San Francisco

Link of the day: Worst Day Ever haha I like this one a lot (thanks KW)

Aaaaaand picking this up after a semester-long break feels a bit strange. I’m currently in San Francisco….

The apartment is small (very), but cute. I don’t mind at all, and so far Katie’s been wonderful about ignoring the somewhat inevitable mess that’s occurring while I try to find places for all my stuff (“you’re such a neat person,” she commented happily about 15 minutes ago, kindly overlooking my belongings strewn all over the floor). I like the neighborhood, too — about a 15-minute walk (straight uphill, no joke) from Fisherman’s Wharf, about 1/2 hour from downtown, plenty of cute cafes in the area and most necessity-type things within easy walking distance.

I visited Joy this weekend as well, and… okay I’m starting to change my mind about California, I’ll just say that. I’ve always thought California was overrated, but Santa Cruz is awesome (and yeah, SF isn’t so bad either). We just chilled, went for long walks on the beach, watched the aging hippie surfers and all that stuff. Oh, and we saw Pride and Prejudice (entertaining but the jury’s still out, don’t get me started). Anyway, got back this afternoon and not much else to report, except that I start my internship tomorrow, and I’m psyched. I’ve already met almost everyone who works full-time at the office, so I don’t have that much left to be nervous about. For those of you who still don’t get what the organization is, I don’t have time to explain it right now so I’m referring all questions to www.creativecommons.org (I’ll post more about it later). Anyway, everyone that I’ve met has been supernice and all that, so I think it’s going to be a good month. A lot of people from the Midwest, too (not that that has anything to do with anything). I’ll try to keep updating you all as things progress/I find out more about what I’ll be doing. But if you all will excuse me, I have an appointment with West Wing…
